| The Camden Ticket Shop was essentially a ‘virtual retail’ facility in that nothing physical was sold in the shop and very seldom was cash used in the transaction. Tickets for concerts are essentially barter vouchers which provide ‘access’ to ‘consume’ a future event. SDA Ltd conceived the interior as a ’simulation’ which contained and concealed wall storage cabinets whilst promoting one main design element comprising a symbolic cash desk; an alter to non existent conventional sale. The Camden Ticket Shop won several awards and wide critical acclaim for the use of colour in the built environment; no natural materials were used in its construction. . . |
