| The Cube Bar is located in a former Barclay’s Bank at Swiss Cottage London NW3. The bank was designed as an integral part of a mixed use commercial and residential development designed by Douglas Stephens + Partners in 1968. SDA Ltd were commissioned to remodel and redesign the premises as a cafe-bistro bar and music club it was re-opened as the Cube in summer 1995. The building was reorganised on 3 public levels, comprising lower ground, music / dance club, upper ground, main bar are and first floor level, mezzanine cafe bistro. It was described as follows in Architecture Today: “The Cube Bar is like a surgeon’s theatre; the more monumental the task the more delicate the operation.” |
